Prof Dixon treats all cancers in the head and neck region excluding brain and spinal cord tumours and small skin cancers. Tumours commonly treated by Prof Ben Dixon in Melbourne are: - Tongue and other oral cavity cancers - Throat cancer - Laryngeal (voice box/ vocal cord) cancer - Thyroid tumours - Sinonasal tumours - All neck lumps - Salivary gland tumours including parotid and submandibular gland - Paragangliomas and carotid body tumours - Deeply invasive skin cancers around the ear and face Prof Dixon attends the Head and Neck Multi-disciplinary meeting at Epworth Hospital and St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne. These meeting are attended by other surgeons, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists as well as allied health practitioners and specialist nurses. He presents all cancer patients he treats at these meetings and provides advice to other treating doctors about their cases. |
